Former Lead Vocalist of Williamsport, PA based BenT, and Sunbury, PA based FunneL (Steven Michael SykeS) has published a book on his 15 years of being a lead Vocalist, Bouncer, and Stripclub DJ.
Destined to be a hit with escaped mental patients everywhere, this book is witty and clever. A solo album (TRIBAL ASYLUM) is being worked on with tracks able to be heard on his myspace page that can be linked to through his website. An all original’s band is being formed to play statewide, if not further. A fixture on the Williamsport and Lycoming County music scene the last 20 years, Steven Michael SykeS, paid his dues working security, doorman, bouncer, promoting, performing, organizing, and being a music superfan. Publishing his own newsletter (The Billtown Entertainment News) for two years 1998-2000, he also helped organize Pause 4 The Cause (1996), The Creekside Jamboree (2002-2004), and the Outsider Shows (2005). Published in Playboy Magazine in 1997, he has also been published in multiple formats on the Internet and on paper. Written in a flury of writer's trance back in 1992 when I was young,
dumb, and learning what not to do. Part song lyrics, part poetry, all
me at the tender age of 22. I have not written with such fervor to make
these poems, in a long, long time. I have always written poetry with
the hope to put it to music someday. These are about my life, love, and
mental state at the time. I hope you can relate to at least one of
them, they came from a poison pen, and we have all held those from time
to time. There are also rays of hope, with renewed confidence in
mankind, and the fact that we are all GOD'S children. Keep in mind that
I wrote these in hopes of becoming a rock star, overdosing, and leaving
a couple of albums worth of material. I never get what I want. About the Author
Steven Michael SykeS is a published writer, vocalist, pure
entrepreneur, and proud new father. The only one in his family to
graduate high school, go to college, make original music, and publish a
book, he did it all without a haircut or a real job. Love me or hate
